The Last Czars maker Nutopia has landed its latest docu-drama, a re-telling of the life of Jesus that will “shine a new light” on his life.
Jesus Crown Of Thorns (w/t) will debut on Fox Nation – the first time Jane Root’s indie has worked with the Fox streamer – and will head into production later this year.
The series, which is intended as a franchise, will “redefine the way we perceive Jesus’ life against the backdrop of the turbulent times,” according to the producer. It will set Jesus’ life and mission in the context of the intense political backdrop in which he emerged as a revolutionary figure who dared challenge the status quo.
