Jane is a leading Creative Executive Producer who has transformed major networks on both sides of the Atlantic. Previously President of Discovery Networks and Controller of BBC2, Jane set up Nutopia which, since its launch in 2008, has created international formats, won awards, achieved record-breaking ratings and pioneered a new genre of television – the mega-doc.

Carl Griffin

Carl Griffin

Managing Director

Carl is experienced in film and television industries internationally, commencing his career with the James Bond franchise before making feature films for the US majors, in studios and on locations around the world. Based in Los Angeles for 11 years, he has a Law degree and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC.

Helena Tait

Chief Operating Officer

Helena has delivered content for major broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic. Before joining Nutopia she held Head of Production and Line Producer positions in some of the UK's leading independents. Helena works across company operational activities as well as partnerships, company strategy, staffing, communications, emerging technology and growth in ancillary areas.

Geoff Daniels

Geoff Daniels

EVP, Unscripted Entertainment

Geoff is a senior TV executive with over 30 years of experience. He was Executive Vice President of Global Unscripted Entertainment at Nat Geo and commissioned the hit Nutopia series The World According to Jeff Goldblum. He will oversee all series in production, manage program marketing and help liaise with Nutopia’s key production partners and talent.

Simon Willgoss

Simon Willgoss

Executive Producer / EVP Development

Simon is responsible for leading the company’s development and creative strategy, overseeing all new projects from conception to greenlight. Recently these have included One Strange Rock for National Geographic, The Last Czars for Netflix, The World According to Jeff Goldblum for Disney+, and A World of Calm for HBO Max. He is also an Emmy-nominated producer, whose credits include How We Got to Now for PBS and Mankind for History Channel

Caroline McCool

Caroline McCool

Head of Production

Caroline oversees all the company's production output. She has many years’ experience as a Line Producer, Production Executive and Head of Production for some of the UK’s leading independent production companies and has extensive experience in factual, entertainment, reality, drama doc and arts programs, delivering to both UK and US networks.

Sou Pang

Sou Pang

Head of Finance

Sou joined Nutopia in December 2017. Prior to this, she worked in corporate finance within the TV industry for a number of years, 14 years of which at All3Media, where she was the Head of Finance, Group Tax and Treasury and was a key member of the management team involved in its sale to Liberty Global and Discovery. Sou is responsible for both the company and production finance. She is a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA).

Samantha Fernandes

Samantha Fernandes

Head of Development

Sam oversees the day-to-day running of the development team across all genres. Joining Nutopia as a Researcher in 2015, Sam has been instrumental in developing much of Nutopia’s landmark premium content, including Babies for Netflix, The World According to Jeff Goldblum for Disney+, and the upcoming National Geographic series Limitless with Chris Hemsworth and One Strange Rock 2 with Will Smith. Prior to joining Nutopia, Sam was a broadcast writer at Canada’s CTV News Channel.

Matt Edmonds

Matt Edmonds

VP, Unscripted Formats

Matt is a dynamic creative who has originated, sold, written and exec produced numerous shows for multiple networks. Before joining Nutopia, he was head of Factual Entertainment at Sacha Baron Cohen and Andrew Newman’s indie Spelthorne Community Television. There, he created and exec produced a raft of projects for a variety of broadcasters including the internationally sold hit show Let’s Talk About Sex. Prior to this he was Head of Development at Rumpus Media where he created numerous projects including the award-winning Asian Provocateur with Romesh Ranganathan.

Rob MacAndrew

Rob MacAndrew

VP, Science Development

Since rejoining the company in 2020, Rob's commissions include the second series of Welcome to Earth with Will Smith for National Geographic and Nutopia's first survival format with new talent Dwayne Fields. Previously at Nutopia, Rob developed and produced One Strange Rock with Will Smith, the Emmy-nominated How We Got to Now for PBS, and the global mega-doc 80s: The Decade That Made Us.

Natalie Spanier

Head of Talent

Natalie is responsible for bringing new creatives to Nutopia. Prior to joining the company to set up the Talent department, she was a programme maker and commissioner with some of the UK’s leading indie companies and broadcasters including the BBC and Discovery.

 

Mo Abdulla

Mo Abdulla

Head of Post Production

Mo has two decades of experience within the post production industry. Since joining Nutopia, he has built an in-house post department, increasing capacity and putting in place new workflows in order to deliver a high level of quality and efficiency on shows for Disney+, Netflix and Amazon.

Danny Khan

Danny Khan

Head of Property and Workplace Management

Danny has 8 years’ experience in the media industry, from VFX and Animation production to tour management in the music business. But, since 2017, he’s been lending his expertise to managing Nutopia’s front of house staff and ensuring the smooth running of our 3 office spaces, and all our remote working.
