Jane is a leading Creative Executive Producer who has transformed major networks on both sides of the Atlantic. Previously President of Discovery Networks and Controller of BBC2, Jane set up Nutopia which, since its launch in 2008, has created international formats, won awards, achieved record-breaking ratings and pioneered a new genre of television – the mega-doc.

Carl Griffin

Carl Griffin

Managing Director

Carl is experienced in film and television industries internationally, commencing his career with the James Bond franchise before making feature films for the US majors, in studios and on locations around the world. Based in Los Angeles for 11 years, he has a Law degree and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC.

Helena Tait

Chief Operating Officer

Helena has delivered content for major broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic. Before joining Nutopia she held Head of Production and Line Producer positions in some of the UK's leading independents. Helena works across company operational activities as well as partnerships, company strategy, staffing, communications, emerging technology and growth in ancillary areas.

Caroline McCool

Head of Production

Caroline oversees all the company's production output. She has many years’ experience as a Line Producer, Production Executive and Head of Production for some of the UK’s leading independent production companies and has extensive experience in factual, entertainment, reality, drama doc and arts programs, delivering to both UK and US networks.

Natalie Spanier

Head of Talent

Natalie is responsible for bringing new creatives to Nutopia. Prior to joining the company to set up the Talent department, she was a programme maker and commissioner with some of the UK’s leading indie companies and broadcasters including the BBC and Discovery.

 

Simon Willgoss

Simon Willgoss

Head of Development

Simon heads up the Development team, working across all of Nutopia’s projects. Originally joining Nutopia to develop AMERICA STORY OF US for History, his credits include the Emmy award-winning HOW WE GOT TO NOW for PBS, and MANKIND for History. Simon was named one of Broadcast Magazine’s International Rising Stars in 2015.

Dominic Crossley-Holland

Dominic Crossley-Holland

Executive Producer

Dominic Crossley-Holland is one of Nutopia’s key executives working on both development and production. Previously, Crossley-Holland was Head of History and Business Programming BBC Productions and Controller of Current Affairs, Arts and Religion at ITV where credits included the award winning THE VIRTUAL REVOLUTION and landmark shows like ANDREW MARR'S HISTORY OF MODERN BRITAIN.

Ben Goold

Executive Producer

Ben Goold joined Nutopia in 2008 and oversees a wide slate of Nutopia’s factual projects including recently AFRICA'S GREAT CIVILIZATIONS for PBS and 2 seasons of FINDING JESUS: FAITH. FACT. FORGERY for CNN. He originally joined to create the Emmy Award-winning series AMERICA THE STORY OF US and its GLOBAL FORMAT successors MANKIND THE STORY OF ALL OF US and THE BRITISH for Sky Atlantic.

Lynne Kirby

Executive Producer

Lynne Kirby is Nutopia's US West Coast Executive Producer.  Recent series include PARCHED: THE WATER WARS for National Geographic and FINDING JESUS: FAITH. FACT. FORGERY for CNN. Lynne has served over 15 years as a Senior Executive at networks including Sundance Channel.

Peter has extensive experience both as an Executive Producer and as a senior Broadcast Executive. Credits include ONE STRANGE ROCK, currently in production for National Geographic, the Emmy-winning HOW WE GOT TO NOW with Steven Johnson, The Decades Series for National Geographic and LIFE for Discovery and BBC.

Nicola Moody

Executive Producer

Nicola joined Nutopia as an Executive Producer in 2016 after 11 years as Director of Factual Programmes at Optomen, where she led a successful slate of documentary, history and factual entertainment programming in the UK and the US.  Prior to this Nicola was a Commissioning Editor at the BBC working alongside Jane.

Oscar-nominated producer Mike Lerner has been making arts and popular culture documentaries for 25 years. He has made films for multiple international broadcasters including HBO, Netflix, Amazon, BBC, Channel Four, Discovery and PBS. His feature films include AFGHAN STAR, HELL AND BACK AGAIN, THE SQUARE, PUSSY RIOT: A PUNK PRAYER and THE RUSSIAN WOODPECKER. He joined Nutopia in 2017 to develop the growing feature doc slate
